Timber Buyers

Will you buy trees from my yard?

Generally, loggers will not purchase trees from individual yards. Yard trees often contain metal objects like nails, screws, or other hardware that can damage saw blades and other processing equipment.

Even if your trees are free of these hazards, it’s unlikely that you have enough trees in your yard to justify the expenses in equipment and labor that will be required to harvest them.

Nevertheless, we still try to help everyone who takes the time to reach out to us.

In July 2024 a family asked us what we could do with 11 very large trees that were overhanging their house. They’d contacted several tree services and the lowest quote they received was $11,000 to remove them. This was an expensive headache for them as they weren’t prepared to pay that. In consultation with them we were able to uncover an option that earned them $32,050 in timber revenue, and they got those 11 trees removed for free. Read the case study here

In rare cases you may have a number of especially valuable trees growing in your yard, such as mature black walnut veneer logs.  If that is the case, then we will be happy to evaluate them for you at no cost.
